The news of Murphy’s passing has left the community deeply saddened. Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh expressed his heartfelt condolences on Facebook, stating, “Our hearts are heavy. Lauren Murphy did so much for so many. She was a champion for the underdog and the underprivileged.”

Lauren Murphy leaves behind a loving family, including her three children, Joseph, Jasmine, and Jacob, as well as her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rowan, Joseph, AJ, and Aubrey. She is also survived by her life partner, John, and her sister, Deborah.

A funeral service in honor of Lauren Murphy will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 10 a.m. at the Shook Funeral Home in Clifton.
