Police Shoot and Kill Suspect in Homicide Case in Toledo
Background
TOLEDO — In a tragic incident, police in Toledo shot and killed a suspect they believe was responsible for a homicide. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when Albert Alderman called 911 to report that his live-in girlfriend, Kelsie Barnier, was unresponsive in their West Toledo home.

The Crime
Upon arriving at the scene, detectives discovered the lifeless body of Barnier. An autopsy later revealed that she had been strangled to death. This shocking development prompted detectives to make contact with Alderman, who initially agreed to meet with them but later changed his mind.
The Police Intervention
Just before 3 p.m., the Toledo police SWAT Team spotted Alderman leaving his home in his car. A high-speed chase ensued, during which Alderman pointed a gun at the officers from the driver’s side window. Fearing for their lives, one of the officers fired a rifle into the back window of Alderman’s car.
