Tragic Fire Claims One Life in Croghan
CROGHAN – In a devastating turn of events, a person has lost their life in a garage fire that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning at 7005 William St. in Croghan, according to a news release from the Croghan Fire Department.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been revealed.

Upon arrival at the scene, fire crews discovered a fully engulfed attached garage, with flames starting to spread towards the residence. The first crew on site was informed that one person was unaccounted for, heightening concerns.
Considering the intensity of the fire in the garage, firefighters initiated a search for the resident inside the house.
Once the fire in the garage had been sufficiently subdued to ensure safety, responders discovered a victim within the garage. Tragically, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene, as stated in the news release.
