Allegations Surround Fatal crash in Iowa: Gunshot Wound Before Collision
When it comes to tragic road incidents, some stories leave us with more questions than answers. Recently, a peculiar case emerged from eastern Iowa, where a man allegedly suffered a gunshot wound prior to a fiery crash that claimed the lives of three individuals. This event unfolded on Highway 20 near the 287-mile marker on October 13, as reported by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
According to the DCI, a 2014 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east in the wrong lane when it collided head-on with a 2018 Freightliner truck. The impact was so severe that both vehicles caught fire. While the truck driver sustained minor injuries, the three occupants of the Impala—identified as Tijuan Devell White, Augustine T. Monboe, and Tyrese Devell Johnson—tragically perished.

What makes this incident particularly alarming is the revelation that White had suffered a gunshot wound before the crash. Authorities noted that there’s no evidence indicating the gunshot came from outside the vehicle, leaving many to speculate about the circumstances surrounding it. Mike Krapfl, a special agent with the DCI, stated, “We may never know what happened in that car.” This uncertainty raises intriguing questions about the events leading up to the crash.
As investigations continue, the cause of White’s death remains undetermined due to the extensive damage to the vehicle. It’s a harrowing reminder of how quickly life can change and how complex some situations can be.
