Officers responded swiftly to the home, where they discovered the bodies of an adult male, an adult female, and a 14-year-old boy. Initial investigations suggest that the father, identified as Nick Dawsey, allegedly shot both his wife, Hannah Dawsey, and their son before turning the gun on himself. This horrifying event is believed to have occurred on the afternoon of November 3.
Despite prior reports of domestic issues at the residence, Sgt. Johnson emphasized that all evidence aligns with the murder-suicide theory. Prosecuting Attorney Devon Holder expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, “It’s just a gut-wrenching situation.” The names of the victims have been publicly confirmed, though the young boy’s name has not been released out of respect.
The investigation is ongoing, with the bodies sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further examination. Authorities are working to provide more information while honoring the memories of those affected, particularly the young victim. As the community grapples with this tragedy, thoughts and prayers are extended to the families involved.
