BLACKSBURG, S.C. — Allegedly, a devastating motorcycle accident took the life of 47-year-old Mark David Cook on Wednesday afternoon, according to reports from Cherokee County officials. The collision occurred on Hopewell Road and involved a rollback tow truck, sparking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Coroner Dennis Fowler stated that the tragic event unfolded around 1:10 p.m. Cook was riding his 2006 Honda motorcycle about two miles south of Blacksburg when he reportedly lost control. Witnesses claim he was traveling at a high speed when he veered off the road, leading to a severe ejection onto the pavement. As if the situation couldn’t get worse, Cook’s motorcycle continued sliding and ended up beneath a 2012 rollback tow truck that was stopped and waiting to make a left turn.
