According to her son, Anshuman Sinha, who shared the news on Facebook, her health had deteriorated after being admitted to AIIMS in Delhi. He stated, “All of you will always pray and love for the mother. Chhathi Maiya has called mother to her. She is no longer among us.”

Sharda Sinha was a remarkable talent, celebrated for her contributions to Maithili and Bhojpuri music. She had a gift for bringing traditional songs to life, with hits like ‘Vivaah Geet’ and ‘Chhath Geet’ that resonated deeply with fans in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Her accolades include the prestigious Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, and Padma Vibhushan, highlighting her profound impact on the music scene.

Born on October 1, 1952, in Samastipur, Bihar, Sharda’s journey began with All India Radio and Doordarshan in the 1980s.
