In Kearney County, a recent accident has left the community in mourning. Allegedly, on November 5, a two-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a passenger from Kearney. According to reports from the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders began receiving multiple 911 calls around 10:18 a.m. about an accident near the intersection of County Road 23 and County Road B.

The collision involved a southbound 2009 Ram pickup, driven by 34-year-old Duniesky Benitez Torres from Grand Island, and an eastbound 2008 Buick operated by 61-year-old Nurita Lambert from Axtell. Both drivers were taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with serious injuries, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Tragically, Salvador D. Alvarado Reyes, a 35-year-old passenger in the Ram pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that seatbelts were not in use in the Ram but were in the Buick, which raises questions about safety practices during the incident.
