MINDEN, Neb. (KSNB) – The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in a deadly crash that allegedly occurred Tuesday morning.

Around 10:18 a.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of County Road B and County Road 23, approximately two miles east of Wilcox. The details are still coming in, but the sheriff’s office claims that a truck, driven by a 34-year-old man from Grand Island, collided with an eastbound car operated by a 61-year-old woman from Axtell.

Both drivers were taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with serious injuries. Unfortunately, a passenger in the truck—identified as 35-year-old Salvador Alvarado Reyes from Kearney—died at the scene. Reports indicate that seat belts were not in use in the truck, while the car’s occupants were buckled up.
