In a recent incident on Fox Creek Road in Bloomington, a 27-year-old woman named Chakquia Echols tragically lost her life in a car crash. According to a news release from the Bloomington police Department and the McLean County coroner’s office, Echols, a resident of Normal, was a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the accident that occurred just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The coroner reported that Echols succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of one vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Michael Mitchell from Bloomington, allegedly fled the scene. Police later apprehended him and charged him with several offenses, including reckless homicide.
