Allegations Surround shooting Incident in Pine Bluff
A 22-year-old man was found shot to death Monday afternoon, according to Pine Bluff police reports. The incident unfolded at the Suzanne Apartments located at 2123 S. Blake St. around 4:30 p.m., after police received reports of gunfire echoing through the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive man, identified as Taron Jerrell Dismuke, lying on the ground on the north side of the complex. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, following notification of his next of kin.
Police have indicated that a suspect, 22-year-old Leon Jermaine Johnson, allegedly turned himself in later that evening around 6:30 p.m. Johnson is currently in custody and is expected to face first-degree murder charges as investigations continue. Lt. DeShawn Bennett, the public information officer for the Pine Bluff Police Department, has confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.
