Late Thursday night, a serious car crash along Route 27 in Roselle reportedly led to the tragic death of a 19-year-old woman from Linden. Local authorities allege that the incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of St. George and Chandler avenues.
According to the Roselle police, a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox struck a curb, breached a fence, and ended up in a Wawa parking lot after crossing through an open lot. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the vehicle was traveling at a high speed, raising questions about the driver’s control.
The victim, identified as Ms. Jayla Pryor, was a passenger in the car. Her brother, 27-year-old Joshua Pryor, was behind the wheel and reportedly only suffered minor injuries. This has left many in the community wondering about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Traffic on Route 27 was halted for several hours due to the incident, with vehicles only allowed to resume their normal flow around 9 a.m. Friday. Additionally, Wawa temporarily closed its parking lot and gas pumps, adding to the disruption in the area.
