Allegations Arise Following Fatal Drive-By shooting in Ripley, Tennessee
RIPLEY, Tenn. – In a heartbreaking incident, two teenagers were allegedly shot, resulting in one fatality, during a drive-by shooting in the Northcrest subdivision of Ripley, Tennessee. It’s reported that the event took place around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, leaving the community in shock.
The deceased has been identified as Demarcus Barnes, a 16-year-old senior at Ripley High School and a beloved varsity football player. His tragic loss has left friends, family, and classmates reeling. The other victim, also a 16-year-old, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg but is reportedly in stable condition.

Lauderdale County Schools Superintendent Shawn Kimble released a statement reflecting on the tragedy, emphasizing the frequency of such senseless violence in the region.
