Alleged Multi-Vehicle crash on U.S. 75 Claims Lives in Richardson
In a devastating incident on U.S. 75 in Richardson, three people lost their lives and at least four others were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning. According to Richardson police, they received a call around 11:55 p.m. Thursday regarding a stalled Cadillac SUV in the 3400 block of Central Expressway, near the President George Bush Turnpike.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Lexus SUV had collided with the stalled Cadillac, where the driver and six passengers were outside the vehicle at the time. Tragically, 19-year-old Alyia Khalid, a passenger in the Cadillac, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and four other passengers were rushed to local hospitals with injuries.

The situation took another heartbreaking turn as the driver of the Lexus, identified as 27-year-old Haley Taylor, and her 6-year-old daughter were also injured in the crash. They were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, but unfortunately, both were later pronounced dead. A third vehicle, a Dodge Sedan, crashed into the Lexus, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries for its driver and passenger.
This chain reaction involved at least four other vehicles, including a Nissan and an 18-wheeler, although no additional injuries were reported. First responders, including Plano police who assisted at the scene, attempted CPR on the victims. As investigations continue, Richardson police remain the lead agency. The U.S. 75 highway was reopened just before 9 a.m. following the incident.
