The accident occurred around 3.45 pm when Kumar, who was driving a Mahindra Scorpio at a high speed of approximately 160 km per hour, lost control of the vehicle. The car hit the median, toppled over, and collided with a Mahindra XUV700 traveling in the opposite direction. The police discovered that the Scorpio’s speedometer had stopped at 164 km per hour. Tragically, the Scorpio did not have airbags, while the airbags in the XUV700 deployed and saved lives.

In a separate incident near Electronics City, a 42-year-old man named Devaraj from Kunigal in Tumakuru district lost his life after a minibus crashed into a parked truck. Five occupants of the minibus sustained injuries in the accident.
