Discovery of Paula Boudreaux’s Remains

Paula Boudreaux went missing in August 1986 from her parents’ residence in Golden Meadow. Her disappearance remained a mystery until skeletal remains were found in Slidell in January 1989. These remains remained unidentified for over three decades until the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office collaborated with the LSU FACES Laboratory.

Identification Process

Through the creation of a possible facial image and an anonymous tip, investigators were led to consider Boudreaux as the victim. It was not until January 2023 that DNA from one of her relatives confirmed her identity, leading to the reopening of the investigation.

Investigation and Arrests

Detectives delved into Boudreaux’s past and reviewed case files, ultimately identifying Russell Lee and Judith Weiser as prime suspects. Lee’s criminal record and additional evidence pointed towards their involvement in the crime. Authorities believe that the pair not only killed Boudreaux but also dismembered her body and disposed of her remains in Slidell.

Apprehension of Suspects

Russell Lee was captured in Missouri with the assistance of the Mountain Grove Police Department, while Judith Weiser was arrested in Tennessee with the help of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Both individuals have been charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Legal Proceedings

Following their arrests, Lee and Weiser are being held at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. Bail has been set at $1.1 million each as they await further legal proceedings.
