A 21-year-old man from the Lohatbaddi village in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, India, was allegedly killed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) by his Pakistani roommates after a verbal argument. The victim, Manjot Singh, had travelled to Dubai in 2023 to work as a labourer at a Pharmaceutical company. His father had borrowed Rs 2 lakh to send him abroad in hopes of improving the family’s condition. The incident occurred on June 21, with Manjot dying on the spot. His friend, who was also attacked, is currently receiving treatment in a Dubai hospital. Manjot’s body is expected to reach Ludhiana on Friday, July 12.

Dubai: A tragic incident has shaken the Lohatbaddi village in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, India, as a 21-year-old man named Manjot Singh was allegedly killed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) by his Pakistani roommates after a verbal argument.

The victim, who had travelled to Dubai in 2023 to work as a labourer at a Pharmaceutical company, has left his family devastated and seeking justice for his untimely demise.

Manjot’s father, Dilbagh Singh, had taken a loan of Rs 2 lakh from financiers and relatives to send his son abroad in hopes of improving the family’s financial situation.

The shocking incident took place on June 21 in Dubai, but the family received the devastating news only after Manjot stopped responding to their calls.

Recalling the horrific event, Dilbagh told The Indian Express that a group of Pakistani men attacked his son and his friend with knives and other sharp-edged weapons over a dispute.

Tragically, Manjot succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while his friend sustained severe wounds and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai.

The body of Manjot is expected to arrive in Ludhiana on Friday, July 12, where his grieving family and friends will bid him a final farewell.
