LONDON – Three years have passed since the tragic shooting death of Itzel Espinoza, a 17-year-old girl in Phoenix. The incident took place in the area of 35th Avenue and Southern on July 3, 2021, where Itzel was found inside a car in an alley with fatal gunshot wounds. Since then, her family has been waiting for justice to be served.
A Devastating Loss
The loss of Itzel has left a deep void in the hearts of her loved ones. Her mother, Elizabeth Diaz, expressed her desire for justice, stating, “I just want justice for my kid. That’s the only thing that I ask.” Itzel’s father, Eduardo Espinoza, shared the sentiment, saying, “We don’t wish it on anybody else.”
Eduardo visits his daughter’s grave site daily, finding solace in the act of decorating and honoring her memory. Despite the passage of time, the pain of losing Itzel remains fresh for the family.
The Search for Justice
Police have identified the suspects involved in Itzel’s murder. Lindsey Brianna Aguilar and Jesus Padilla were named as the perpetrators, with Padilla currently serving time for his role in the crime.
