Man Identified in Fatal LeClaire Car Crash
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who tragically lost his life after his vehicle crashed into a tree in LeClaire on Monday, July 8. The victim has been named as Vincent Holst, a 38-year-old man from East Moline.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, LeClaire police came across Holst’s vehicle just before 5 a.m. near the T-intersection of Forest Grove Road and SW 35th Street. A preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was travelling east on Forest Grove Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. As a result, the vehicle continued through the intersection and collided with a tree on the east side of SW 35th Street.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene. Despite their best efforts to save him, Holst was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident has left the community in shock, and the authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
