In Prince Frederick, Maryland, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,670 calls for service during the week of June 24 to June 30, 2024. The incidents included check welfare, disorderly conduct, domestics, motor vehicle crashes, patrol checks, suspicious persons/vehicles, traffic complaints, and arrests. Two individuals were arrested for burglary at a CVS Pharmacy, while others were charged with CDS violations and disorderly conduct. Burglary Incident at CVS Pharmacy in Chesapeake Beach

In the early hours of June 26, 2024, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to an intrusion alarm at the CVS Pharmacy, Inc. located at 7955 Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach. Upon arrival, deputies discovered forced entry to the front door and damage to the ATM, indicating an attempted break-in using power tools. As the deputies approached the scene, they noticed a vehicle fleeing the area at high speed.

An Maryland State Police Trooper attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle, but the suspect driver failed to comply, leading the officers on a pursuit into a nearby neighborhood. The vehicle eventually got stuck at a dead end, prompting the driver to flee on foot into a wooded area. The front seat passenger, identified as Aaron David Dickerson, 34, of Germantown, was apprehended and charged with Burglary-4th Degree/Tools. Another suspect, Tevin Denzel Smith, 31, of District Heights, was arrested on a warrant while attempting to commit burglary at the CVS.

Drug-related Incidents in Sunderland and Prince Frederick

On June 25, 2024, Deputy R. Contic responded to a report of a suspicious person at the 7-Eleven on Dalrymple Road in Sunderland. Contact was made with Kathleen Rene Magruder, 36, of Lexington Park, who displayed signs of impairment and was found with drug paraphernalia in her possession. Magruder was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Similarly, on June 26, DFC Lee initiated a traffic stop in Prince Frederick and encountered Brian Edward McKay, 45, of Huntingtown, who was driving under the influence. McKay, along with passengers Sommer Lee West, 39, and Charles Melvin Gross, 69, all from Huntingtown, were found in possession of drug paraphernalia and charged accordingly.

Arrests for Disorderly Conduct in Various Locations

Throughout the week, several individuals were arrested for disorderly conduct in different areas of Calvert County. Hector Salvador Chumil-Ixcaya, 30, of Greenwich, CT, was apprehended for failing to obey a lawful order in Owings. Jose Albino Baca V, 61, of Chesapeake Beach, was charged with disorderly conduct, intoxicated public disturbance, and malicious destruction of property in North Beach. Benjamin Joseph Culbert, 34, of Lusby, was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct at Spring Cove Marina in Solomons.

Theft Incidents in Prince Frederick, Lusby, and Dunkirk

Several theft incidents were reported during the week, including the theft of an Imaging Center’s money bag in Prince Frederick, a wallet at Drum Point Clubhouse in Lusby, and exercise mats from A2O Fit in Dunkirk. The total value of stolen property in these incidents amounted to over $2,100.

Weekly DUI Arrests in Calvert County

Three individuals were arrested for driving under the influence during the week of June 24 – June 30. Daniel T. DePhillip, 55, of North Beach, Robert W. Davis, 45, of Prince Frederick, and Dalida B. Alfaro Garcia, 29, of Temple Hills, were all charged accordingly by Calvert County Sheriff’s Deputies.
