The Pune Hit-and-Run Incident

In the early hours of the morning, tragedy struck in the Bopodi area of Pune when a four-wheeler vehicle collided with two marshals riding a motorcycle. The incident, which occurred at 1:30 a.m., resulted in the death of one police personnel, identified as Samadhan Kohli, and left another marshal, Sanjog Shyam Shinde, injured.

The Accused and the Investigation

The accused driver, identified as 24-year-old Siddharth Raju Kengar alias Gorakh, has been detained, and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has been taken into custody. DCP Vijay Magar confirmed that the vehicle has been traced, but the driver is still at large. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case.

According to information from the police, the car belongs to the leader of a political party based in Palghar, and his son was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The deceased has been identified as Kaveri Nakhwa, a 45-year-old resident of Worli Koliwada. Her husband, who was also injured in the collision, is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

Legal Action and Arrests

Rajendra Singh Rajawat and Rajesh Shah, the father of the main accused, have been arrested in connection with the case. However, the main accused, Siddharth Raju Kengar, remains at large. The police have formed six teams to track down and apprehend the accused.
