About Mihir Shah

Mihir Shah, 24, is the son of Rajesh Shah, the deputy leader of Shiv Sena in Palghar district. He had reportedly been out with his friends at a Juhu pub before the tragic incident occurred. Shah, who had dropped out of school after Class 10, was assisting his father in the family’s construction and real estate business.

Following the accident, Shah and his companion fled the scene in an auto-rickshaw. While the companion was later apprehended by police, Shah remains at large and is being actively pursued by law enforcement.

The Accused’s Father Arrested, Girlfriend Questioned

Rajesh Shah, Mihir’s father, was taken into custody after it was discovered that the BMW involved in the incident was registered in his name. Shah’s girlfriend is also being questioned for allegedly aiding him in evading capture.

Meanwhile, Shah’s mother and two sisters are said to have gone into hiding after locking their residence in a bid to avoid authorities.

The Victim’s Husband Speaks Out

Pradip Nakhava, the bereaved husband, emotionally recounted the events leading up to the accident, expressing his anguish over the loss of his wife. He highlighted the challenges faced by ordinary citizens in seeking justice against powerful individuals.

He lamented, “These are big people, nobody will do anything, we will suffer.” His poignant words underscore the systemic inequalities that often hinder the pursuit of justice in such cases.

‘Law is Equal for All’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasised that the law would be applied impartially in the case, with no special treatment accorded to the accused due to his background. He reassured the public that justice would be served.

Aaditya Thackeray’s Intervention

Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray visited the Worli police station to extend his support to the grieving family and underscored the importance of swift action in apprehending the culprit. He stressed the need for transparency in the investigation process.

Parallel to the Porsche Case

The incident draws parallels to a recent case in Pune involving a Porsche car driven by a minor, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The lenient treatment of the accused in that case sparked outrage, raising concerns about the fairness of the justice system.

As investigations continue in the Mumbai hit-and-run incident, authorities are under pressure to ensure that all individuals involved are held accountable for their actions.
