Virginia State Police are currently investigating a devastating two-vehicle crash that took the life of a 52-year-old man in Bedford County, Virginia. The tragic incident occurred on Hardy Road, just two tenths of a mile south of Turner Branch Road, at 5:10 p.m.

A 2022 Honda Accord was travelling south on Hardy Road when it suddenly crossed the center-line and collided head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, according to VSP officials.

The driver of the Honda has been identified as 52-year-old Bryant Whitby from Moneta. Despite wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, Whitby sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

The 18-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, who was also wearing his seatbelt, was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.
