A 29-year-old man from Taunton, who was previously charged with Negligent Motor Vehicle Homicide, is now facing new charges in Fall River Superior Court. Ricky Jorge Ponte was indicted on Manslaughter, Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury and Death, OUI Liquor & Serious Injury & Negligent, and Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury. The charges stem from a fatal crash on Route 44 in Taunton, where Ponte was driving at 71 MPH in a 40 MPH zone and did not brake before the collision.
