Tragic Discovery in Bogalusa, Louisiana

In a small town in Louisiana, a tragic discovery shook the community when a man was found dead behind his home on the 1200 block of South Choctaw Road near Bogalusa at 8:15 a.m. on Friday (July 5). The victim, identified as 62-year-old Lark Starnes, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, leaving residents in shock and disbelief.

As Washington Parish deputies arrived at the scene, they quickly identified Clois Clifton Blackledge III as a person of interest in the case. Blackledge’s Honda motorcycle was found at Poole’s Bluff boat launch in Bogalusa around 6:30 p.m. on the same day. Despite an extensive search and following several leads, Blackledge remained elusive, keeping law enforcement officials on high alert.

Blackledge was swiftly taken into custody by Washington Parish deputies for questioning, marking a major breakthrough in the investigation.
