La police débarque au musée des enfants

Children, all smiles, visited the new 100% electric command post, hopped on a motorcycle and a four-wheeler. They even took on the role of police officers for a few moments. The museum’s co-founder, Gabriel Dufresne, highlighted the success of thematic events due to space limitations. The collaboration with the Granby Police Service was seamless, allowing for positive interactions with families and children. The fascination with police work is evident, with the police car being a popular attraction. The museum’s future looks bright with upcoming projects in the pipeline. Visitors from far and wide attest to the museum’s growing popularity, making it a must-visit destination.

The children, all smiles, had the opportunity to visit the new command post, which is 100% electric. They were able to climb aboard a police motorcycle and a four-wheeler. For a few moments, they became police officers themselves.

“Even before we opened the museum, we knew we wanted to host themed events because we were limited on indoor space. We couldn’t have a fire truck because we didn’t have the space, so we brainstormed events we could host, and we saw that deployments like this were super interesting,” said Gabriel Dufresne, co-founder of the museum.

As soon as they reached out to the Granby Police Service, they immediately said yes without hesitation.

“This is an opportunity to connect with families and children. We have the chance to alleviate any fears children may have about police uniforms. We are happy to be present,” said Catherine St-Jean, an agent in prevention and public and community relations who was on-site for the event.

The profession of a police officer is fascinating for children, and Mr. Dufresne affirms that the police car is very popular at the museum.

Upcoming Projects

This is the first year of the Le P’tit Monde des Grands museum, and according to Mr. Dufresne, there are more projects on the horizon.

“We are in discussions with the Fire Department, the company that provides emergency pre-hospital care to have ambulances, and we are working hard to create large-scale events,” mentioned Gabriel Dufresne, co-founder of the museum.

Mr. Dufresne is proud of the direction the museum is taking so far as visitors are traveling from far and wide to visit them.

“It exceeds our expectations. There are people who came from Val-David just for our event, for us! And between Val-David and here, there is the Science Centre, another children’s museum in Laval, plenty of opportunities to go elsewhere, but they made a 2.5-hour drive to come see us. It’s one of the best surprises we’ve had since we opened, seeing where people are coming from.”

Themed days are successful, and many more are on the way. The children’s museum continues to attract visitors with its engaging and interactive events.

The collaboration between the museum and the Granby Police Service has been a hit, bringing joy and excitement to children and families alike. As the museum continues to grow and expand its offerings, it looks forward to hosting even more exciting events in the future. Stay tuned for more adventures and fun at Le P’tit Monde des Grands!
