The Gwinnett County Police Department recently made a significant bust in unincorporated Norcross, shutting down an illegal casino that was operating out of Sosa’s Billiards. This establishment, located at 6070 S. Norcross Tucker Road, was the scene of an undercover operation resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals on gambling-related charges.

The raid, which occurred on June 18, was the culmination of an investigation that began in 2023. The probe was initiated when a vigilant patrol officer conducted a routine traffic stop and discovered that the vehicle occupant had just visited a suspicious “casino” in the area. Subsequently, undercover officers from the vice unit paid a visit to Sosa’s Billiards and confirmed the presence of illegal gambling activities taking place on the premises.

Among those apprehended during the raid were Steven Bae Kim, a 66-year-old resident of Duluth and the alleged owner of the establishment. Kim was charged with commercial gambling, keeping a place of gambling, and actual gambling. Additionally, Seth Abernathy, a 40-year-old from Auburn and an employee at the establishment, was also arrested and charged with commercial gambling. Eight other individuals faced charges related to illegal gambling activities.

In addition to the arrests, the search warrant executed by law enforcement officials resulted in the seizure of both drugs and a significant amount of money.
