The Rochester Police Department has concluded its investigation into a fatal crash that took the life of an Owatonna teenager and involved a Minnesota State Trooper. The tragic three-vehicle collision occurred near Rochester’s Apache Mall, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Olivia Flores, just weeks before her high school graduation. The investigation revealed that the crash occurred when a Ford Focus, driven by Angelina Bartz of Owatonna, collided with the State Trooper’s squad car while attempting a left turn. The findings have been submitted to the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office for review, with no timeline for potential charges.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department has wrapped up its investigation of a tragic crash that resulted in the loss of a young life from Owatonna and involved a Minnesota State Trooper.
The fatal three-vehicle collision took place at an entrance to Rochester’s Apache Mall on the evening of May 18, claiming the life of 18-year-old Olivia Flores, a passenger in one of the vehicles involved. Flores tragically passed away three days after the crash, just weeks before she was scheduled to graduate from high school. She was one of seven individuals who sustained injuries in the devastating collision.
The driver of the vehicle Flores was traveling in was identified as 21-year-old Angelina Bartz from Owatonna, with 19-year-old Katerina Bartz also present in the Ford Focus. The State Trooper involved was 32-year-old Shane Roper, accompanied by 20-year-old Peter Meyer from Zumbrota.

The third vehicle involved was a Toyota Rav-4 SUV carrying two individuals, 36-year-old Emie Pasco and 12-year-old Gabriela Parker, both from Owatonna, who fortunately only suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Preliminary information released by the Rochester Police Department indicated that the Focus collided with the squad vehicle as Angelina Bartz attempted to make a left turn from westbound 12th Street Southwest into Apache Mall. The State Patrol squad car was traveling east on 12th Street at the time, leading to the collision with the SUV leaving Apache Mall.
Following the completion of the investigation, Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson announced that the case file has been submitted to the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office for review. A timeline for a potential charging decision has not been disclosed.
