Ongoing Investigation and Body Camera Footage
Minnesota law mandates the release of body camera footage within 14 days of a deadly encounter, unless it hinders an ongoing investigation. Chief Brian O’Hara has agreed to temporarily withhold the footage at the request of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to avoid interference. The delay pertains to the double homicide inside the apartment.
Full Cooperation for Justice
Chief O’Hara pledged the Minneapolis Police Department’s full cooperation with the BCA’s investigation. Despite the delay in releasing the body camera footage, he assured the public that there would not be a significant holdup in making the video available.
