Pune Tragedy: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Pune’s Phursungi area, where the lifeless body of a young woman was discovered in a water tanker. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Kaushalya Mukesh Chavan, resided in Dugad Chawl near JSPM College in Handewadi, according to reports.
The distressing discovery was made by Purushottam Narendra Sasane, the owner of the water tanker and a local resident of Dagadi Chawl. Sasane, who operates a water delivery business in the city, found the body while preparing to deliver water to a residence near the Phursungi powerhouse.
After completing his deliveries on Wednesday, Sasane parked his tanker near his home and proceeded to fill it at Ramtekdi the following morning. Upon encountering an obstruction while attempting to release the water, he noticed a saree stuck in the outlet. To his horror, upon opening the tanker cap, he found the lifeless body of a woman inside.
Upon alerting the authorities, officers from the Hadapsar police station rushed to the scene and swiftly transported the body to Sassoon Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police have initiated a thorough investigation to determine whether the tragic incident is a case of homicide or suicide.
The community in Phursungi area has been left in shock and disbelief following the grim discovery. Neighbours and residents have expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and are eagerly awaiting further updates from the ongoing police investigation.
