The Lexington Police Department has identified the 39-year-old man found deceased in an alleyway as Genaro Martinez-Martinez. Martinez-Martinez, who was homeless in the area for one to two months, was found with a rear head injury suggesting a backwards fall. Authorities have been unable to locate his next of kin despite working with Homeland Security investigators. The incident was reported when officers responded to a man lying unconscious in an alley on W. 6th St. No foul play is suspected in his death. The Lexington Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Police Department has identified the 39-year-old man who was found deceased in an alleyway in Lexington on Thursday, June 13. The man has been identified as Genaro Martinez-Martinez, a United States national who had been homeless in the Lexington area for the past one to two months.

Chief Paul Schwarz of the LPD stated that despite working with Homeland Security investigators, they have been unable to locate Martinez-Martinez’s next of kin. The incident occurred in the 100 block of W. 6th St., where officers responded to a report of an adult male lying next to a building in the alley at 6:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department and officers discovered that the man was deceased. The preliminary autopsy findings indicated a rear head injury, likely from a fall. Chief Schwarz mentioned that there is no suspicion of foul play in this case.
