The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and State Police are investigating the killing of Derek Mason, whose remains were recently identified decades after his death. Mason’s remains were found in Clay Township near the PA Turnpike in 1992, with Pennsylvania State Police Lancaster determining that they had been dumped in a wooded area. Through advanced testing on Mason’s bone samples, he was identified in 2023 as a homicide victim from 1991.
