CICERO, Ill. (WLS) — Three individuals are currently in custody following the tragic shooting death of a young man who was working at a liquor store in Cicero, Illinois.

The victim, identified as 23-year-old Sebastian Rodriguez, was fatally shot while confronting two men who were allegedly attempting to steal a bottle of liquor from Portrillo Liquors on 2126 S. Cicero Ave. The shooting took place at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities.

During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a single gunshot at Rodriguez, resulting in his tragic death. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Rodriguez succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head.
