A young man, Saddam Qureshi, from Uttar Pradesh, died in Raipur after being injured in a mob attack while transporting cattle in Arang police station area. Qureshi had been undergoing treatment for 10 days and was on ventilator support at DKS Hospital. Despite a surgery and warnings from doctors about his critical condition, he passed away. The police have not made any arrests in connection with the case. Qureshi, along with two others, was attacked by a group of youths while travelling with cattle. CCTV footage is being examined, but the assailants remain unidentified. The investigation is ongoing.

Raipur: Youth Dies After Mob Attack While Transporting Cattle

In a tragic incident that shook the city of Raipur, a youth named Saddam Qureshi, hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur area, passed away in a hospital on Tuesday. The 10-day long battle for survival ended tragically for Qureshi, who was gravely injured in an alleged mob attack while transporting cattle in the Arang police station area.

The Incident

On June 7, Qureshi, along with his companions Chand Khan and Guddu Khan, both residents of Saharanpur, were on a journey from Mahasamund to Odisha with cattle in a truck. However, their journey took a horrific turn when a group of 10 to 12 youths started chasing them. Realizing the danger, the trio attempted to evade their pursuers by taking a U-turn towards Raipur. Unfortunately, the group caught up with them near Mahanadi, where they were mercilessly attacked and thrown off a bridge.

The Fatal Outcome

Tragically, Chand Khan lost his life on the spot, while Guddu Khan and Qureshi were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Guddu Khan succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. Qureshi, on the other hand, fought for his life at a private hospital in Raipur for 10 days before eventually succumbing to his injuries on Tuesday.

Investigation Ongoing

As the community reels from this senseless act of violence, the Arang Police have taken up the case for investigation. CCTV footage from the area has been meticulously examined, and locals are being questioned in a bid to identify the perpetrators. At present, the police remain clueless about the assailants, adding to the frustration and grief of the victims’ families.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) of Raipur, Kirtan Rathore, confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the case yet. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for justice for the victims of this heinous crime.

As the city mourns the loss of these young lives, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for greater vigilance and community solidarity in the face of such acts of brutality. The scars left by this tragic event will take time to heal, but the hope for justice and peace must remain unwavering.
