In Ocala, Florida, a tragic multi-vehicle crash caused by a woman driving under the influence has claimed a second life. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Pine Ave. and NW 20th St., involving a Honda Civic, a Toyota Scion, and a Chevrolet Spark. The Chevrolet driver, Tiara Kirkland, attempted a left turn, leading to a collision with the Honda and Toyota. One passenger, Ethan Reeves, was fatally injured, while the driver, Kedrick Johnson, suffered critical injuries and later passed away. Kirkland faces DUI manslaughter charges and remains in custody. The investigation continues as authorities examine the factors contributing to the crash.

Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash in Ocala Leaves Two Dead
In a devastating turn of events, Ocala police have reported that a second victim has succumbed to injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a woman driving under the influence. The incident took place at the intersection of North Pine Ave. and NW 20th St. at around 7:45 p.m. last Wednesday.
Details of the Crash
The crash involved a Honda Civic, a Toyota Scion, and a Chevrolet Spark. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Tiara Kirkland, was traveling southbound on N. Pine Ave. when she attempted to make a left turn onto NW 20th Street, directly in the path of the Honda and Toyota, which were heading northbound on Pine Ave.
While the Honda driver managed to avoid the collision, the Toyota struck Kirkland’s car almost head-on before hitting a raised median, overturning multiple times, and colliding with three other vehicles in a nearby used car lot.
Ethan Reeves, a passenger in the Scion, was tragically thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver, Kedrick Johnson, sustained critical injuries and passed away in the hospital days later.
Driver’s Impairment
Tiara Kirkland, the driver of the Chevrolet, displayed signs of impairment at the scene, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the smell of alcohol on her breath. She failed multiple field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content level of .191 and .186.
Kirkland was immediately arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter. Following Kedrick Johnson’s passing, she now faces a second charge of DUI manslaughter.
Investigation Ongoing
The Ocala Police Department continues to investigate the crash, including the possibility of speed being a contributing factor for the Toyota and Honda. Kirkland remains in the Marion County jail without bond.
