The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has made a significant breakthrough in the case of a tragic shooting incident that took place on March 7 in the 2700 block of Bruce Place, SE. Two lives were lost, and another individual was injured in this heartbreaking event.
The Scene of the Incident
On that fateful day, officers rushed to the location following reports of gunfire. The situation they encountered was grim, with two men found with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), one of the victims, identified as 23-year-old Dana Faulkner, could not be saved. The second victim was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
A Tragic Turn of Events
Shortly after, authorities were alerted to another distressing scene at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue, SE. Here, they discovered a juvenile male with critical injuries from a gunshot wound. Tragically, despite best efforts, 15-year-old Abdul Fuller succumbed to his injuries and passed away on March 9.
Justice Prevails
After months of investigation, the MPD recently apprehended a 17-year-old male in Florida, charging him with first-degree premeditated murder while armed in connection to the case. The legal process for his extradition is now underway. Prior to this, a 19-year-old male was arrested and charged with the same offence on December 21.
