In a heartbreaking turn of events, a fatal crash on Interstate 94 in Casco Township has left two individuals dead. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Incident
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the crash shortly after 12:30 a.m. Reports indicated that the accident took place near the eastbound rest area on Interstate 94, close to Fred Moore Highway. Upon arrival at the scene, sheriff’s deputies discovered two vehicles involved in the collision. One of the vehicles was engulfed in flames, making immediate identification impossible. The other vehicle was identified as a 2018 black Chevy Cruze.
Tragically, both vehicles were occupied by a single driver each, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their families.

Minutes before the crash occurred, authorities had received reports of a 1999 silver Chevy Silverado travelling west in the eastbound lane of the interstate. It is still being investigated whether this vehicle was involved in the fiery collision.
