Sheriff Daryl Forte’ : Fatal Father’s Day shooting in KC parking lot

Law enforcement authorities in Kansas City are currently investigating a tragic homicide that took place in the early hours of the morning. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Deshaun McKinzey.

According to Sheriff Daryl Forte’, the incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of 39th and Broadway. Police were initially alerted to the scene by reports of gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered McKinzey lying in a parking lot at 39th and Broadway. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

Additionally, a second victim was also found at the scene and was swiftly taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. Fortunately, this individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released any information regarding a potential suspect.
