The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has officially declared two deaths as homicides after months of investigation. On Tuesday, 23rd January 2024, IMPD officers responded to a report of a battered individual at an area hospital. The victim, an adult male, was found with injuries consistent with trauma in the 4900 block of Media Drive. The alleged suspect, 53-year-old William Spann Jr., was apprehended without incident with the help of IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics. The victim succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, 31st March 2024, with the Marion County Coroner’s Office confirming the cause of death as a homicide on Friday, 14th June 2024. Spann Jr. is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings. On a fateful Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a distressing call that led them to the 4900 block of Media Drive. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were met with a harrowing sight: an adult male lying outside with injuries indicative of a violent encounter. The victim was quickly rushed to an area hospital for urgent medical attention.
After conducting a thorough investigation, IMPD detectives identified the alleged perpetrator as 53-year-old William Spann Jr. With precision and expertise, IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics team swiftly apprehended Spann Jr. at the residence without any further incident. Another chilling incident unfolded on a dreary Friday, June 14, 2024, when IMPD officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Dogie Road. The distress call reported a person stabbed, leading officers to discover an adult male outside, gravely injured from the traumatic event. Immediate medical attention was provided as the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Amidst the chaos, a person of interest was detained at the scene, later identified as 59-year-old Timothy Lisby. Homicide and aggravated assault detectives swiftly responded to the scene, accompanied by the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency to gather crucial evidence. Through meticulous investigation and interviews, Lisby was apprehended in connection to the incident.
The following day, Saturday, June 15, 2024, brought tragic news as the victim was declared deceased by medical professionals.
