In Talegaon, a reckless Mahindra Thar driver caused the death of Veerbhadra Ramrao Shirole and serious injuries to his friend. In Bhosari, a minor was killed by a private bus, and in Wakad, a pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus. Three fatal accidents also occurred under the Pune Police Commissionerate, including a woman’s death in a bus collision, a minor’s death in Lonikand, and a senior citizen’s death in Warje Malwadi. Investigations are ongoing, with arrests pending in some cases.

Pune, 17th June 2024: Accidental deaths have been on the rise in the Pune district, with recent incidents causing concern among residents. Over the past few days, a series of tragic accidents have taken place in various areas, leading to fatalities and serious injuries. These incidents have occurred within the jurisdictions of Talegaon Dabhade, Bhosari, and Wakad Police Stations under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), as well as under the Bharati Vidyapeeth, Lonikand, and Warje Malwadi Police Stations under the Pune Police Commissionerate.

Tragic Incident in Talegaon

In a heartbreaking incident near Hotel Kasanova Inn on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway in Talegaon, a man lost his life due to a reckless driver. Veerbhadra Ramrao Shirole, a 38-year-old resident of Warale, Maval, was riding his two-wheeler when he was struck by a speeding Mahindra Thar. The driver, identified as Mayur Sakhare from Hinjawadi, has been accused of negligence leading to Shirole’s death. The victim’s wife has filed a complaint with the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, and legal actions are underway.

Tragedy Strikes in Bhosari

Another tragic incident took place in Bhosari’s Gavjatra Maidan, where a minor lost their life in a collision with a private bus. The child’s father reported the heartbreaking incident to the Bhosari Police Station, highlighting the dangers of negligent driving. The bus driver, who was maneuvering the vehicle in the dark, has been held accountable for the fatal accident.

Pedestrian Injured in Wakad

Wakad witnessed a distressing incident as a pedestrian was hit by a private bus while crossing the road at Dange Chowk, Thergaon. The victim, identified as Nilesh Gyanshin Inwati, suffered severe injuries to his legs due to the reckless driving of the bus driver, Anil Jagan Teli. The authorities at the Wakad Police Station have taken note of the incident, and legal proceedings are in motion.

Multiple Incidents under Pune Police Commissionerate

The Pune Police Commissionerate also faced a series of unfortunate accidents in different areas:

1. A fatal collision involving two buses claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman named Shweta Limkar at Bharati Vidyapeeth. The bus driver is under investigation for his role in the tragic incident.

2. In the jurisdiction of Lonikand Police Station, a two-wheeler rider tragically collided with a minor, resulting in the minor’s untimely death. The authorities are working to bring the responsible party to justice.

3. A senior citizen, Vasant Laxman Tikone, lost his life in a tragic accident involving a PMPML bus driver at Warje Malwadi. The case has been registered, and efforts are being made to ensure accountability.
