In a devastating turn of events, a family of seven from Adilabad district in Andhra Pradesh met with a tragic accident near Polur while on their way to Tiruvannamalai. The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, resulted in the untimely deaths of three family members, including a 10-year-old girl.
The victims were identified as K Ravikanth (20), S Rasmitha (10), and S Kalyani (34). The family, which also included four other members, was en route to visit the famous Tiruvannamalai temple when the accident took place.
Details of the Accident
According to police reports, the family was travelling in a car driven by Sasitharan (36) when the tragedy struck. While on the road from Vellore to Tiruvannamalai, Sasitharan, who was allegedly sleep-deprived, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a tree near Polur.
Tragically, Ravikanth and Rasmitha lost their lives on the spot, while Kalyani was rushed to Polur Primary Health Center for medical attention. Despite efforts to save her, Kalyani succumbed to her injuries at the health center. The remaining family members suffered varying degrees of injuries and were promptly taken to Tiruvannamalai Government Hospital for treatment.
Medical Update
Medical sources revealed that one of the injured passengers sustained a fracture, two others suffered hand injuries, and another individual experienced splenic injuries as a result of the accident.
