A tragic incident occurred when a 25-year-old man lost his life after drowning in Jordan Lake, as reported by deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place on Saturday around 11:43 p.m. in the 6000 block of NC 751, where emergency responders were called following reports of a possible drowning. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Pradip Kumar Bhujel from Charlotte. Bhujel was enjoying a fishing outing with friends at Jordan Lake when the unfortunate event unfolded.
Eyewitnesses revealed that Bhujel was in the water and suddenly disappeared from view, prompting his friends to raise the alarm. Deputies and first responders quickly sprung into action upon arrival, focusing their search efforts on the area where Bhujel was last seen. Tragically, his lifeless body was located and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Medical Examiner, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
