Late in the night on June 15th, the tranquility of the Carlisle County, Kentucky, was disrupted as law enforcement agencies were alerted to a high-speed car chase unfolding on Kentucky 286 eastbound. The vehicle in question was a silver Dodge Charger bearing Illinois license plates, careening down the highway at over 100 miles per hour.
As the pursuit entered the Gage community, the situation escalated when the driver abruptly made a U-turn and sped back west on KY 286. Attempts were made by the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office to deploy spike strips in the road in a bid to halt the vehicle. However, in a dangerous turn of events, the car veered off course, narrowly missing a nearby sergeant, but ultimately succumbing to the spike sticks, rendering the vehicle immobile.
What followed was a dramatic scene as the driver, later identified as Terrell Jones, fled on foot into the darkness.
