Tragedy struck in Scarborough’s L’Amoreaux neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon when a teenage boy was fatally shot in a plaza parking lot near Birchmount Road and Glendower Circuit. The incident took place just south of Finch Avenue East, near a convenience store where the shooting occurred.
Details of the Shooting
According to reports, Toronto police received multiple calls reporting a shooting shortly before 2 p.m. An altercation turned deadly, resulting in a male being shot. Two shooters were involved in the incident, with one fleeing on foot and the other making a getaway in a white-coloured SUV.
The victim, identified as 16-year-old Kayelin Rider-Downey of Toronto, was rushed to a hospital with gunshot wounds but tragically succumbed to his injuries. This marks the 37th homicide in Toronto this year.
Suspects at Large
The suspects involved in the shooting are described as Black males. One was last seen wearing a red hat and shirt, while the other was spotted in a black hoodie. Toronto police are actively seeking information from the public to apprehend these individuals.
