Two wanted male suspects were killed in a police shootout along Jalan Abad in Century Garden, Johor Baru. The shootout occurred after a joint federal-state police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team, comprising operatives from the Organised Crime Investigation Division (D14) and Serious Crimes Division (D9), began trailing the suspects who were behaving suspiciously in a Toyota Estima MPV. When the suspects realized they were being followed, they attempted to flee and fired several shots at the police vehicle in pursuit.

The police team retaliated by returning fire at the suspects’ vehicle until the situation was under control. Upon inspection of the suspects’ vehicle, police found both men shot dead inside, alongside two pistols and various substances believed to be illicit narcotics.
