Tragic Loss in Gujarat

In a separate and equally heart-wrenching incident, a 58-year-old woman, along with her two sisters and brother-in-law, were discovered lifeless in an apartment in Gujarat’s Surat city earlier today. Initial reports suggest that the tragic deaths may have been a result of asphyxiation, potentially caused by a gas-powered geyser that was left running. However, the precise cause of their demise is yet to be definitively determined, as stated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) R P Barot.

The police were alerted to the grim discovery around 9 am, with the bodies of the apartment owner, Jasuben Vadhel, her sisters Shantaben Vadhel (53) and Gauriben Mevad (55), and Gauriben’s husband Hirabhai (60) found within the premises. The victims had retired to bed around 10 pm the previous night, according to reports.

Jasuben’s son, upon checking on them at 8 am, found the family members unconscious and promptly notified the authorities. Tragically, the victims had regurgitated, indicating a distressing turn of events. Samples from the scene have been collected for examination, and postmortem procedures are underway.

While the exact cause of the fatalities remains under investigation, the possibility of death by asphyxiation due to the geyser’s continuous operation is being explored. DCP Barot has mentioned that suicide is unlikely, but all potential angles are being thoroughly scrutinized by law enforcement.
