The deceased, Aneesh Asha Adarsh of Madappally and Abhi of Manganam, near Puthuppally, were part of a group that visited the quarry pond near the Chembupuram polders. Abhi fell into the water, prompting Aneesh to jump in to rescue him. Despite efforts by group members and locals, the bodies were retrieved by the police and Fire and Rescue Services. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted at the taluk hospital in Changanassery before the bodies are released to their families.
