The victim, 42-year-old Adam Raad from Alsip, Illinois, was a driver for a trucking company based out of Chicago. He was found at the back of a flatbed semi-trailer, where he had suffered traumatic injuries. Despite being rushed to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville hospital, Raad was pronounced dead.

Sequence of Events
According to a statement from the City of Crawfordsville, Raad and another truck driver arrived in separate trucks at the plant for a scheduled pickup. The driver explained to investigators that while he was moving a large container towards the back of the trailer using his tandem trailer axles, Raad had climbed onto the back of the trailer to open the container. Tragically, the moving container collided with Raad, resulting in the fatal injuries.
Investigation and Autopsy
The Crawfordsville Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. An autopsy has been scheduled for Adam Raad to determine the exact cause of death. It has been confirmed that no employees from Lakeside Book Company were involved in the incident.
