Tragic Accident in Newton-le-Willows Claims the Life of Johnathan Mennell
Late on Monday night, tragedy struck in Newton-le-Willows as a white Ford Kuga veered off Southworth Road and crashed into a tree near the junction of Mere Road. The incident, which occurred around 10.30pm, resulted in the loss of a 35-year-old man who has been identified as Johnathan Mennell from Lowton.
Following the devastating incident, his family released a heart-wrenching tribute in memory of him.

The tribute read: “As a family we are deeply saddened and shocked to hear our lovely Jonny has passed away. Beloved Son, Father, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend to all. Anyone that knew Jonny will be devastated by this news, as all he did was make people laugh and smile. He will be forever missed, may he now rest in peace.”
