A Boston man, Bryan Horgan, a Level 3 sex offender, was indicted yesterday in federal court in Boston for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Horgan, 58, faces charges of possession of child pornography after being arrested on April 26, 2024. During a search of his residence, electronic devices were found containing video files of child pornography, including images of infants. Horgan has a history of convictions for crimes against children, leading to a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison, supervised release, and a fine of up to £250,000. Sex Offender Indicted for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material in Boston

A Level 3 sex offender in Boston, Bryan Horgan, has been indicted in federal court for possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The 58-year-old was charged with possession of child pornography after being arrested on April 26, 2024, and has remained in custody since then.

Details of the Allegations

According to the charging documents, Horgan was identified as the owner of a Microsoft account that was uploading child pornography. Upon searching Horgan’s residence, authorities found several video files of child pornography depicting children as young as infants on one of his electronic devices. Additionally, another device contained filenames with words and phrases indicative of child pornography.

Prior Convictions

Horgan has a history of convictions, having been previously found guilty in Suffolk Superior Court of rape of a child, assault to rape a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, disseminating obscene material to a minor, and possession of child pornography.

Potential Penalties

Due to his prior convictions, the charge of possession of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to 20 years in prison, along with at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on guidelines and statutes.
